Fee: $75.00
Dates: 2/9/2023 - 2/23/2023
Times: 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Days: Th
Sessions: 3
Location: Online
Instructor: Cathleen Handlin
This hands-on ZOOM workshop will teach you how to decorate emptied eggshells that last for generations! Learn each step, from first to last. No prior art experience is needed, because success in folk art relies on sequential STEPS and age-old techniques (TRICKS), rather than inborn art talent!! These eggs do NOT use paint or paint brushes, but a special inexpensive Ukrainian wax writing tool. You’ll also be amazed at the EASY tricks Ukrainians use, to create symmetrical balance on a 3-dimensional egg, WITHOUT using measuring tools or math! Students marvel at the little-known age-old techniques which Ukrainians use, to draw perfectly straight lines and other shapes on a rounded surface. You’ll finish the workshop with a completed Ukrainian Egg that you can present as a gift, use as a decorator item, or sell for a surprisingly high price on Etsy, E-bay, or Amazon. Our instructor is a cultural anthropologist who was taught by Ukrainian master artisans. Come join us for a fun, amazing set of discoveries & new hobby that brings joy to others, & can provide you with an income! Y-O-U can do this! A supply list will be emailed to students upon registration.
