TamboFUNction Drumming is a FUNctional rhythmic adventure for ALL children in Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten and for older individuals with special needs. All instruments will be provided. No prior musical experience is needed. Class is taught by Jorge Ochoa, Occupational Therapist. Examples of skills addressed using drums and percussion include: Attention/focus, Impulse/self-control, Taking turns, Sharing, Communication reinforcement, Creative self-expression, Leadership, Confidence/self-esteem, Basic color/shape identification, Prepositional/positional concepts, Sensory-motor skills, Numbers, Left/ right discrimination… and FUN! Note: These are not drum lesson classes. A 15-minute break will be provided during class. Guardians must stay during session.
