A full week of making, tinkering, building and playing! Using a variety of tools and materials, they will explore circuits and electricity. Campers will construct dc motors and explore their power by making their own propeller cars, robots and more. Using the principles of engineering, camp goers will learn how to imagine, design, create, and build.

 

This exciting camp will take your kids on an adventure out of this world, exploring earth and the outer planets. Campers will explore multiple topics including robotics, rocketry, physics and engineering through interactive science experiments and activities.

During our Jr. scientists camp, your budding scientist will dive into the fascinating world of science through crazy and fun experiments. They will have the opportunity to conduct explosive experiments, observe mind-blowing chemical reactions, participate in exciting STEM challenges, explore the wonders of gross science, and so much more! explosive chemistry experiments that will leave them in awe.

Learn about flight as you build your very own rockets. Experiment with different kinds of propulsion as you use your knowledge to blast off and recover different kids of rockets.

Let your imagination take flight as we join Sir Isaac Newton and prepare for aerospace adventures with his laws of motion. Design, build, and test fantastic flying creations including kites, planes, rockets, hovercrafts and more. Learn all about the Wright Brothers and their numerous contributions to aviation. Discover the star secrets of the universe with your own planisphere. Experiment with the laws of physics, gravity and motion during this amazing week of hands-on fun.

Join a team of camper engineers and build bridges, domes, cubes and pyramids. Assemble and control pulleys, levers, catapults, and simple machines.

For ages 6-12 Campers use creative and collaborative skills to design a mission patch, train like an astronaut, and solve real-world engineering problems using spinoff technology, just like NASA astronauts working together on a mission. They propose answers to questions like "How could space suit cooling tubes be used to solve a problem here on Earth? How could robotic arms help make our world a better place?” Then, they create a storyboard and presentation to share their spinoff project and work on their science communication skills.

Experience a fun learning experience for 4 days while being exposed to the historical events of Northside and the state of Texas.  This experience will also acquaint students with the Northside School Musuem and their activities.  Students will rotate through 3-4 activities each day - Art, History, games songs, theatre, story-telling, genealogy, etc.  

• Please send a light snack and water bottle with them to camp each day.
