Wetland, Project Vegetation, and Invasive Monitoring

August 8-9

This 2-day course focuses on the practical evaluation, assessment, and monitoring of wetland enhancement or restoration (re-establishment) projects. Participants will learn applied ecological field techniques to monitor wetland hydrology and vegetation parameters throughout the restoration or enhancements of wetlands. This will include learning how to determine the baseline conditions for the success of a management project. Field protocols learned will include how to set-up field plots or stations for vegetation and hydrology sampling and monitoring. Identification of wetland vegetation (both native and non-native invasive species), and invasive plant species management will be additional topics of this course. Participants will also have the opportunity to refresh their knowledge of identifying and delineating wetlands vs uplands.

If you are a student enrolled in a degree program (NKU or other) please email refs@nku.edu from your university email account indicating your degree program to receive a discounted student rate.
