Testing Fee (AFH)

Before you can take the Adult Family Home Administrator Certification course, you must register and pay the testing fee for the required English proficiency test. This test is a prerequisite for certification, and the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) requires all students to demonstrate sufficient English language proficiency before enrolling in the course.

After you register and pay the fee, we will email you instructions.

Register for the AFH English Test before August 26th. The Summer Quarter AFH English proficiency test is available for testing until September 17th.

If you do not complete the test by September 17th, 2025, you will need to register again and pay the fee for the Fall Quarter test.

Please note that you cannot register for the Adult Family Home Administrator Certification course until you have successfully passed the English proficiency test.

CE classes are intended for adults 18 and up unless otherwise noted. Please see Continuing Education Policies to learn more about our underage waiver, refund, and cancellation policies.

Are you an au pair? Do you need documentation for work that you attended class? Don’t forget to register for the CEU or Clock Hours fee.
