Starting a Legal Home-Based Food Business

Did you know that it is possible to start a food business out of your own home kitchen - yes, even during a pandemic! If you've ever dreamed of turning your love for baking into a side business, this is the course for you. Taught by an experienced food entrepreneur, we will cover business licensing and health code issues specific to home-based food businesses and provide step-by-step information about food costing, sales channels, and the financial aspects of making a successful start. Home-based food businesses are mainly limited to baked products. If you have any questions prior to signing up for the course as to whether or not your product ideas would be in-line with Washington's laws, please contact Continuing Education at conted@seattlecolleges.edu.
