Advanced Anesthesia Instrumentation — ACE 2213: 13 clock hours
13 hours of lecture time (1.6 hours of Live lectures per week for 8-weeks with ancillary assignments and readings delivered in an asynchronous format)
Course Description
This course provides instruction and lab application to the theories and concepts of advanced anesthesia equipment used in complex anesthesia situations. Topics include Point of Care Technology, Invasive monitoring and transducers, thromboelastography, ultrasounds, TEEs, cell saver, rapid volume infusers, IABP's, and NMB assessments.
Course Student Learning Outcomes
1. Apply theoretical knowledge to the use of advanced anesthesia equipment and supplies used in the anesthesia care environment.
2. Apply advanced theoretical knowledge as it applies to the maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies.
3. Apply advanced theoretical knowledge and psychomotor skills to be able to assist proficiently in anesthesia-related emergencies.
