Oklahoma LPG Equipment Technician Certification

Oklahoma Equipment Technician – LPG License The Oklahoma Equipment (Vehicle) Technician – LPG (Propane) License Course is a 2 day blended learning course taught via online and in-class instruction with hands-on application in the areas of Safety, Fuel Characteristics, Vehicle Fuel System and Operation, Fuel Line Fabrication and Inspection, Fuel System Inspections, and Codes as required by NFPA. Students will receive a course link and log in information for the online portion of the course one week before the course start date. The online portion is self-paced and is required to be completed before attending the classroom portion on the course start date. Please note that this course is designed to prepare technicians for the Oklahoma State License Skill Assessments and Examination and is not an installation or fuel system diagnostic course. Participants have the opportunity to take the Oklahoma State License Exam and apply to the Oklahoma Department of Labor for state licensure once they have completed the course and passed all assessments and examinations. This course is for experienced technicians with certification and/or experience in the following areas within the automotive or heavy truck industry: • Engine Performance • Electrical Systems The above areas are not taught during this course. Students should be well versed in reading electrical schematics, scan tool usage, understand engine management systems, and have basic computer skills prior to taking this course. You must have documentation of the above prerequisites by showing proof of one of the following: • One (1) year minimum work experience in an automotive/heavy truck shop working as a technician in the above indicated ASE areas. (OR) • ASE Certification in the above indicated ASE areas. (OR) • Completion of at NATEF certified training course in the above indicated ASE areas. NOTE: Enrollment for this course will close one week before the listed course start date.
