Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) are an attractive residential option for active older adults. CCRCs offer a full continuum of independent housing, assisted living, and skilled nursing care within a single campus setting. In the Asheville area there are a variety of these kinds of communities, each with a different financial model, various health and wellness options and services, and varied amenities. Navigating your way through all of the choices to find a community that is right for you can be a challenge. Members of the OLLI Life Transitions Committee have designed a course to help you assemble the relevant information and ask the right questions to see whether the CCRC is a living option that meets your needs and to help you choose among the options available to you.
This program will meet the following times, with some meetings to be held onsite at the Reuter Center and others meeting at local communities. A final schedule will be sent prior to the start of the course.

Costs
The fee for the summer 2026 Exploring CCRCs program is $150 per person. A 2026-2027 OLLI annual membership is required to register for this program. If you do not have a current membership, please visit this page and add membership to your cart. Program fee includes program materials and administration. Transportation is not covered, and participants are expected to provide their own transportation for visits to CCRCs scheduled as part of the program.
Refunds
Refunds will be issued for the program fee, less $25/person administrative charges for cancellations made by 5 p.m. up to 10 days prior to August 4, 2026. For cancellations made less than 10 days prior to August 4, 2026, 50% of the program fee will be refunded. Email olli@unca.edu to request cancellation and refund.
