The Sinking of the Lusitania   

The tragic sinking of the Lusitania, a British cruise liner on route from New York to Liverpool on May 7, 1915 by a German submarine (U-boat) took the lives of 1,195 men, women and children. This lecture will discuss the events leading up to it, the "perfect storm" of circumstances that allowed it happen, and the far-reaching results it produced.

David Albert has been a student of the Civil War for 50 years. He co-taught the Civil War elective at the U.S. Air Force Air Command and Staff College and was a Civil War docent for 12 years at the Alabama Department of Archives and History.
