50046 Exploring Lake Street

Lake Street extends across the full width of Minneapolis, from Lake Calhoun on the west to the Mississippi River on the east. Throughout its 140-year history, Lake Street has welcomed a series of new arrival communities to Minnesota. OLLI’s “Exploring Lake Street” will examine this ethnically diverse commercial district. The course will visit key Lake Street sites including Uptown, the Midtown Global Market, the Somali Museum of Minnesota, and Ingrebretsen’s Gifts. Participants will be given a list of locations prior to the first session.
