10453 Love, Life and Death in Contemporary India - Culture Corps - New   NEW!

The Supreme Court of India has ruled that privacy is a fundamental right of every Indian citizen. Yet the same country is also witnessing the lynching of people because of the food they consume, the faith they practice or the people they love. This course examines social life in India in all its violence, messiness, and potentiality. We will read contemporary thinkers, watch videos and films, and speak with activists in India to make sense of what it means to live, love, and die in India today.
