10473 Hearts of Our People: Native Women Art@Mia   NEW!

Through the centuries, Native women created the vast majority of art produced by their people. That fact has been little noted in art history texts or shows, that is until the ground-breaking exhibition, Hearts of Our People at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Native women have made exquisite art at times of great cultural peril and in every moment since. This show is beautiful, emotional and expansive. It showcases 117 objects - juxtaposing modern paintings, installations, textiles, pottery, intriguing photographs and a gleaming El Camino with works from ancient cultures of 1,000 years ago. Join Mia docent Kay Miller for a tour of this astonishing show. [Free group admission for OLLI members
