Dread Epidemic: Yellow Fever in Norfolk, 1855    NEW!

This single session course will explore the yellow fever epidemic that struck the prosperous port region of Virginia in the summer and fall of 1855.  We will discuss the source of the epidemic, how it spread, what medical treatment was available, and the impact it had on Norfolk and nearby Portsmouth.
