Considering Global Implications of Local, “Small” Wars    NEW!

If you are interested in, and stay up to date on, world news, here is a course that will help you dig deeper into the less-reported-on effects of local conflicts. There are, as you know, global implications and often unintended consequences of local conflicts. As consumers of world news, it is important for us to understand that what happens in, for example, the Democratic Republic of Congo (i.e., competition for cobalt) has a global impact on commerce (i.e., computer chips) and great-power economic competition, and hopefully not military conflict. We live in challenging, highly media-connected times, and although our physical distance from a local conflict may be great, nevertheless there can be unforeseen consequences that have an impact on our daily lives at home. Come join fellow news enthusiasts for lively dialogue about current events.
