Geopolitics of Global Energy   NEW!

Energy use, carbon dioxide emissions, and climate change are in the news daily. This course will address the politics of fossil fuels and nuclear energy; the rise of natural gas; the possibilities and limitations of renewables and energy storage; India, China, and Africa's control of the climate future, and the messy business of energy transformation and who pays for them. Classes will include lectures and ample time for discussion. NOTE: Participants should have some basic knowledge of fossil energy types or have taken Dr. Finley's previous OLLI course Fossil Fuels, Climate Change, and the Global Energy Outlook.
