Botanical Garden of the Piedmont (BGP): Its Past, Today, and Future    NEW!

Building a public botanical garden is not an easy feat. Botanical Garden of the Piedmont (BGP) is driven by the Central Virginia public’s input, aspirations, and desire to be a place of beauty, education, healing, and unity. Through continuous outreach, we have worked to ensure that the built garden will represent the hopes and dreams of the entire community. In the meantime, we are stewarding the site so it serves the community now. This course will outline what has already been achieved in the process toward building the garden and give insight into the road map ahead. The first class will be in the classroom and the second class will be a tour of the garden site. The tour will let you see for yourself how the Garden is already working to showcase some of the unique flora of the Piedmont region, to enhance public knowledge of nature and land stewardship, and to increase access to a place for solace and comfort in the community. For more information about the Garden: https://piedmontgarden.org/ *Directions for the tour will be shared with enrolled members.
