OLLI invites you to enjoy a lovely fall trip to Washington, DC. Our bus will deliver us to the National Gallery of Art about 11:30 a.m. From there you are welcome to enjoy your day however you wish. Washington, DC is filled with free museums, from Smithsonian's including the National Museum of African American History and Culture, the National Museum of Natural History and the National Air and Space Museum, to art-filled museums like the National Portrait Gallery and the National Gallery of Art. We will leave for home at 4 p.m.

National Gallery of Art, Called to Create: Black Artists of the American South. Includes the Gee’s Bend, Alabama quilts, along with 40 sculptures, paintings, reliefs, and drawings from the Souls Grown Deep Foundation.

National Museum of the American Indian, Robert Houle: Red Is Beautiful. For Robert Houle (Saulteaux Anishinaabe, Sandy Bay First Nation, b. 1947), color is powerful, expressive, and lies at the foundation of his artistic practice. Throughout his career, his work has embodied and expressed what he most values: the creative moment, the earth, and the sacred.
Marian Brown, Program and Events Manager, will accompany the group, museum hop and provide snacks on the drive home.
