1940 to 1950: From World War II to the Cold War NEW!

In just 10 years, the principal nations of the world fought and ended World War II, created a post-war world that promised peace and prosperity, used the world's first atomic bomb, witnessed the dropping of the Iron Curtain, and the beginning of the Cold War. This course will be a combination of lecture and discussion in which we review the important military and political decisions, the role played by political leaders, the compromises made, and how these actions influenced future events.
