Exploring The Jefferson Library at Monticello: How To Do American History   

Participants will bring topics of personal interest to use while learning about the panoply of published, unpublished, and online resources available at the Jefferson Library. Although the Library focuses on Jefferson's life, times, and legacy, just about any topic within the broad sphere of American history will work. This will be a hands-on experience and there is expectation that participants will do homework to enrich and reinforce the discovery process. Note: Students are required to bring a portable computing device and facility in Internet functions for use during class.

Required Material: Students are required to have a portable computing device and facility in Internet functions for use during class sessions. Students should also have an interest in pursuing a particular historical issue or topic as a personal project.
