Worlds of Wonder: Current Developments in Astronomy    NEW!

We are constantly receiving breathtaking reports of an astronomical discovery, a new image downloaded from a space telescope, or other scientific wonder. This course is intended to review recent discoveries of, and developments in, astronomy and to assess their importance. We will place these ongoing discoveries into an emerging view of our universe. We’ll look at a selected number of current discovery missions, including but certainly not limited to, the James Webb Space Telescope. This course will not involve a live observing session - many of the matters to be discussed are not visible to any but the most sophisticated and inaccessible instruments. Many, such as gravitational waves, are not visible at all.

*Recommended reading will be shared with those enrolled in this course.
