OLLI at UVA and Charlottesville Opera Presents a Pop-Up Special Presentation Opportunity NEW!

The traveling salesman is a central character in both of Charlottesville Opera's 2024 Season shows at The Paramount this summer. General Director Dr. Leanne Clement examines the lore and lives of the traveling salesman as related to the company's productions of Meredith Willson's The Music Man and Gaetano Donizetti's The Elixir of Love. This pop up lecture will include performances by two of Charlottesville Opera's 2024 Ader Emerging Artists, soprano Alicia Russell Tagert and tenor Dylan Davis. The singers are two of 16 Ader Emerging Artists who will be in residence with the company to perform in shows and concerts throughout the summer. Tagert currently lives in Richmond and has recently performed with Virginia Opera, Glimmerglass Festival, and Opera Birmingham. Davis hails from Ohio and was a 2022 Apprentice at Santa Fe Opera and was in residence with Shreveport Opera from 2021-2023. The duo will be accompanied by UVA Instructor of Piano, Dr. Shelby Sender. Dr. Leanne Clement received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from The College of William and Mary and her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance from Louisiana State University.
