A defining characteristic of America resides in the penchant for movement, whether to the local mall, or hitting the road. Americans have traveled in many ways: buggies, cars, trains, and planes. Creating the American landscape are the many roads, whether a one lane dirt, two lane blacktops, a parkway or the intrastate. Inhabiting this country are fast food restaurants, gas stations, motels, garages, whether for 2 cars or several hundred, neon signs and billboards, the airport and railroad station.
