Explore the principles of permaculture and discover how to apply sustainable, regenerative design to a garden or other outdoor space. In this two-hour introductory class, participants will learn how to facilitate healthy low-maintenance ecosystems that work in harmony with nature. A permaculture garden uses a philosophy and set of practices to work with nature to create a self-sustaining ecosystem. The goal is to balance all parts of the garden ecosystem to promote biodiversity, preserve soil, and conserve water.
Whether you have a small garden, a large yard, or a community space, this class will provide you with a solid starting point for making any green space more productive, resilient, and environmentally friendly.
No prior experience is required. Anyone with an interest in gardening is welcome.
This course is offered in conjunction with Edmonds College.
