    Learn the art of preparing delicious sourdough bread in this hands-on workshop. Baking bread is both science and craft and you'll learn the secrets to creating delicious and crusty loaves.

    This workshop will cover creating and nurturing a sourdough starter, tools and equipment, ingredients, preparation, preparing for baking and troubleshooting. We will sample a variety of fresh sourdough loaves to talk about variations in taste and texture.

    During the workshop, we will mix, prep, and shape dough to take and bake at home the following day.

    Your class fee includes a glass jar with sourdough starter, a proofing basket to use and keep, plus written instructions and recipes.

    At home, you will need a Dutch oven or roasting pan with lid that can be safely heated to 450 degrees.

     

    For Class: Please bring the following supplies to class:

    1) a large mixing bowl

    2) a kitchen towel

    3) an apron (optional). We will have spatulas, scales, measuring cups, etc. for class use.

    Through thought-provoking and sometimes eccentric artistic assignments, writing prompts, captivating artist walks, and purposeful critique; this course challenges you to expand beyond your limiting beliefs and preferred medium.
