This class, while not a design class, will introduce you to basic concepts that can help guide you as you create the yard you've always wanted. The instructor, an experienced landscape architect and avid gardener, will introduce an approach to creating curb appeal that will help you avoid common mistakes and save you time and money.

We will learn how to identify garden weeds, medicinal, edible, and aquatic plants that are native or introduced to the PNW as well as their traditional uses. Join Biologist, Kerri Bailey, as she shares her 30+ years of wild crafting experience harvesting, drying, storage, recipes, and conservation concerns. Having a greenhouse helps increase plant production yields and serve many other functions. They are places to grow plants, propagate & start seeds, protect plants from seasonal weather changes and store gardening supplies. In this class you will learn how to design & construct your own greenhouse from scratch or with a kit and how to manage this unique environment. We will also cover basic plant care, controlling insect & disease problems and aquaponics (cultivating plants and fish together).

Choosing which herbs work for you and which forms to take can be difficult and frustrating to determine. In this class you will learn why and how this process works by understanding the basics of using herbs wisely with an herbalist with over 30 years of experience. We will discuss the different herbal forms, durations, doses and how to stock your herbal medicine chest.
