Certified flaggers are responsible for worker and public safety during road construction, utility work
and maintenance operations. Through visual movements and appearance, flaggers must establish authority and confidence so traffic will respond in time and consistently with the need to stop, change lanes, proceed more slowly or maneuver as necessary around the work site. This course prepares students to receive a Flagger Certification card, which is valid for three years in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Students must be at least 18 years old. There is an open book test at the end of class in which you must have a passing score of 80 percent in order to receive your certification. Book included in course fee. Bring a sack lunch.
This class is held at the Puyallup campus.
