We’ll explore Bracelet or Necklace Making, Earrings and Key Chain Blanks, Junk Journals, Nail Polish Dip on Pumpkins, Seashell Jewelry Holder and Decoupage on Boxes. Each activity offers a fun and hands-on way to express your artistic side while learning new techniques. $50 supply fee due to facilitator on the first day of class. Must have crafting experience.

David Hockney is an English artist who became famous as a significant contributor to the Pop Art movement in the 1960s. We will focus on one of his most recent explorations, creating art with an IPAD. During class, we will review videos of his major IPAD creations, download the free software “Brushes,” and watch instructive videos on how to use this software. Students will also receive an e-mail with the weblinks for the material presented in class.

This three-session course covers stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs and annuities — and how to put them together into a real financial plan. Topics include asset allocation, risk and return, portfolio construction and the most common mistakes investors make. No prior experience required. What happens to everything you have worked for when you are gone? This two-session course takes an honest, practical look at estate planning and the transfer of wealth at death. Whether your estate is large or small, this course will help ensure your assets end up exactly where you intend.

Medicare can be both overwhelming and confusing. This class will walk you through Advantage Plans, Medicare Parts A and B, supplements (also called Medigap plans) and drug plans. Whether you are new to Medicare or want to learn more, you will be better informed about your Medicare choices. Kelly Boryca, the facilitator, has been counseling people on Medicare for 14 years as a volunteer for the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP). There will be plenty of time for Q&A!

Figuring out how to evaluate Medicare drug plans each year can be challenging but can also save significant money. Don’t overpay for your plan! The class will review how they work, how to evaluate the best plan for you and how to independently easily sign up for a new plan!

We will look at how our bodies are designed to maintain wellness, the effect of imbalances and how to restore and maintain vitality as nature intended.

Despite medical breakthroughs, modern diseases like obesity, cancer, depression and dementia still plaguing us—our bodies aren’t built for today’s fast-paced, tech-driven world. Join this science-based class to discover how technology and lifestyle shape your health and learn practical strategies for lifelong wellness.

Experience historic Prescott and the fascinating people who passed through here! Each lecture will normally be delivered by a guest speaker considered an expert in local history, often a published author or luminary who has presented at other venues nearby. Most topics will typically be rooted in the territorial days of Arizona, although there may occasionally be some exceptions. There will always be a Prescott connection!

We will discuss the current issues of the day. We will have guest speakers, experts in their fields, to present their topics and answer questions. The subjects will be determined before class. Our last class will be a review and open discussion on topics chosen by the class.

Please join us for this participatory class. Members nominate class subjects and vote on the topics for each week. Recent subjects include socialism, the federal government checks and balances, climate change, the Supreme Court, SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence), deficits and inflation and water resources.

Prescott Valley is growing at a phenomenal pace and is made up of transplants from across the U.S. There's a surprising amount to know about the area: its history, geography, government and recreation. There's a lot that sets it apart from, and ties to, the neighbor up the highway. We'll have a guest speaker from the Town government (yes; it's a town, not a city, and we'll go over what that means), an overview from a local history expert and lots of good-to-know practicalities.

This class will look at a variety of interesting things about countries of the World, such as the fact that the smallest 145 countries by area could all fit into Russia with room to spare, or that the US, China and India could all fit intact into Africa, or that the population of the island of Java is greater than the population of the entire nation of Russia.

This learning group continues our discussions about foreign affairs as we review recent major events and important international issues. We enjoy lively discussions about geopolitics and talk about the stories behind the headlines. The facilitator and distinguished guest speakers (DGS) may use brief presentations to generate interactive civil conversations.

Let us take a look at women who have impacted the history of the United States. Little known but exceptional women contributed to the American Revolution, the Civil War, the Suffrage Movement, in government and in the military. So much accomplished, so little acknowledgment. Join us in learning about these women and appreciating their contributions to our country.
