Youth Programs   

Artists will learn about different artists and techniques while having fun exploring their own creativity. They will be using paint, pencils, markers, watercolors, and pastels to create masterpieces. All of the fun materials will be provided. Each session, they will continue to develop skills in different areas.

Grades 7 and Up

Step into the shoes of a hero with Junior Responder Academy, where kids will learn the basics of emergency response and safety through real-life scenarios, activities, and lessons. Children will get a chance to talk with local SWAT, PD, Fire and Rescue officers while also getting a chance to explore drones, work a mock crime scene, and much more. This class is designed to introduce young citizens to local role models and inspire future public servants. JRA is perfect for any youngster interested in becoming an EMT, firefighter, or police officer.

Unleash your creativity with Learn to Crochet, a fun and engaging class where kids can master the art of crochet! Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this class will guide you through creating beautiful and colorful projects. From cozy scarves to cute accessories, let your imagination run wild as you learn new skills and make new friends.

Ignite your passion for metalwork in our Welding class, where kids can learn the basics of this fascinating craft! Under expert guidance, participants will safely explore techniques and create their metal masterpieces. Join us for a hands-on experience that sparks creativity and builds confidence. Dress code for safety: no nylon, long pants, long sleeve shirt and enclosed shoes (tennis shoes OK without nylon material - no sandals).

Learn how to make and edit your own content, explore how to keep up with current trends, and much more while also learning how to keep yourself and others safe online. Students will have a chance to make a marketing video for Kids’ College at the end of the week.

Explore science the Mythbuster way! In this class students will get a chance to test out different myths to prove if they are true or false. Kids will learn the difference between a hypothesis and a prediction, the scientific method, and enhance their critical thinking skills. Intro to Robotics with mBot is a hands-on, beginner-friendly course where students explore the exciting world of robotics and coding using the mBot Robotics Kit. With quick builds, game-based tutorials, and engaging projects like line-following and obstacle avoidance, students learn block-based coding and gradually advance to Arduino. Along the way, they develop real-world problem-solving, logical thinking, and creative skills while working with motors, sensors, and other key components. This course makes learning technology fun, accessible, and empowering for young innovators.

In this course students will gain a basic understanding of component identification and operation. They will disassemble an automotive engine, identify the parts and discover what makes it run. Students will also learn about diagnosing problems and vehicle preventive maintenance.

Learn to make mind blowing projects using everyday items and imagination. You’ll definitely want to take them home to share with your friends and family……”You made that out of what????” Did you ever think you could make a race car from a mouse trap, a maze out of Legos, or make s’mores using a pizza box? Students will work on specific projects and then have time to create whatever their mind can build using materials stationed around the classroom. Your only limits are your imagination in this class.

Take your culinary skills to the next level in our Ultimate Chef class, where kids can explore gourmet cooking and advanced techniques! Through hands-on activities and creative challenges, participants will develop their culinary talents and creativity. Join us for a delectable journey that celebrates the art of cooking.
