  • If you earned your bachelor's degree or higher from Radford University, you do not need to request your transcript. Instead, please email your birthdate and full name (as listed at the time of graduation) to cbetranscripts@radford.edu, and we will retrieve your transcript from our records.

    This micro-credential provides you with resources and information from the last two decades of research on effective literacy instruction for all learners. You will review the research and then create your personal philosophy of literacy instruction to use in your own classroom. The intended audience for this micro-credential is all Elementary General Education and Special Education Teachers and the difficulty is low. This micro-credential is grounded in research from the following sources: What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) Practice Guides: Foundational Skills to Support Reading for Understanding in Kindergarten Through 3rd Grade; and the Report of the National Reading Panel: Teaching Children to Read; and the International Literacy Association.

    In this micro-credential, you will learn about the key skills that all students must master to become proficient readers. You will be provided with research-based enhancements that make reading instruction more inclusive, and you will learn real world examples of how to make the instruction more systematic and explicit. The intended audience for this micro-credential is all Elementary General Education and Special Education Teachers and the difficulty is medium. This micro-credential is grounded in research from the following sources: What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) Practice Guides: Foundational Skills to Support Reading for Understanding in Kindergarten Through 3rd Grade; and the Report of the National Reading Panel: Teaching Children to Read; and the International Literacy Association.
