Loved by illustrators, comic artists, poster artists, commercial designers, and paintersgouache is a water-based paint with many unique properties worth exploring. More opaque than watercolors, gouache has excellent covering power, and delivers vibrant colors. It is re-wettable, making it easy to correct mistakes. When dry it has a velvety matte finish, which allows it to be scanned without glare, making it especially useful for commercial designers.
Learn the many techniques that have made gouache the favorite paint of famous artists such as Henri Matisse, and how to avoid common mistakes. This class also provides instruction on the basics of painting with topics such as values, positive and negative space, and how to measure spatial relationships using only a brush.

- Winsor & Newton Designers Gouache - set of six 14 milliliter tubes or comparable
- Masterson Sta-Wet Handy Palette - eight and one-half inches by seven inches
- Pentel Water Brushes - Set of four
- Watercolor Strathmore 400 series Watercolor Paper Pad, 9 inches by 12 inches, 12 sheets
- Roll of paper towels
- Small spray bottle with water (Chroma Atelier water sprayer)
