Mixed Media Collage
Dolores Gray Color, paper and paste three elements to create captivating collages and 3D assemblages. You will learn to use a wide range of techniques and discover innovative uses for ordinary objects. You will learn to master fundamental and experimental processes to create textures, transfers and more. Week 1: Collage Abstractions Week 2: Paper crafting Week 3: Themed collage Week 4: 3D Shadow Box Assemblage We will also work with a variety of colorful decorative papers, magazines and acrylic paint; create small canvas collages; and matchbox collages. Dolores R Gray is a long time resident of San Francisco and works at the Hunters Point Shipyard studios. She is a contemporary mixed media artist who combines her photography and printmaking with her collage and assemblage work. She is an avid antique and flea market scrounger searching for unique and odd objects with which to create her assemblage. She has a Masters of Fine Art from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a BFA in Fine Art from Cooper Union School of Art. She has shown her art nationally and internationally. $20 materials fee payable on 1st day.
