The ABYC Marine Electrical Certification course provides comprehensive training in the design, installation, and inspection of marine electrical systems in accordance with ABYC Standards. Electrical systems remain one of the most technically demanding and safety-critical aspects of modern vessels, making this certification especially valuable across the marine trades.
This course covers both DC and AC electrical theory as applied to marine environments, including power distribution, overcurrent protection, grounding and bonding, shore power systems, batteries, inverters, chargers, and corrosion-related electrical issues. The instruction emphasizes a practical understanding of how systems function, how deficiencies are identified, and how compliance is evaluated. Ideal for marine electricians, repair technicians, and surveyors, this course equips participants with the knowledge required to work confidently with marine electrical systems and to meet professional and industry expectations.
The course culminates with participants taking the ABYC Marine Electrical Certification exam.
