The entry gate to Architecture, Art, Engineering is Basic Design Principles. How we use space, color, form in our creations. Whether it be a blanket we make, or the design of a house, there are patterns in the design studio that we can focus upon to open the creative mind. See this class as a brain exercise to unlock your creative-unique self, and apply it into tangible projects every week to share with each other. Each week we will discus a topic, and then you will be given an assignment to create for the following class in which we will use the idea of a design jury to show and tell our projects. It is great learning fun! Found Objects are encouraged!

They are the oldest markers of humanness that tells us about legends of great Kings, Martyrs, Torture, Love, Ingenuity, Faeries, Gnomes, Curses and the last remnants that tell us about these artifacts that people have left behind for us to pull the pieces together. We will visit Ireland and Scotland, Transylvania, Prussia, Central America, Rapa Nui, Tahiti, and more. Each class will bring you back in time, transcribing hieroglyphs, pictographs and shadows. So you want to write? Getting stuck? What about a short story of found objects whether it be from the ground, or a leaf on a grand tree. There is a story in everything, and sometimes the greatest stories come from the interaction we have with these things. Learn to see objects/things with the lens of an archaeologist, how to create a taxonomy of details, and practice writing about it in proper form, and share amongst our group so we can learn from it too. The great Haikus came from a walk in the park, the greatest novels written from a sighting of a whale, or lipstick found on the co?ee cup. Come, dig up your family genealogy perhaps and write their stories. Things are only forgotten when they are not spoken anymore, lets bring life back through your imagination.
