The Pharmacy Technician program prepares students for the role of support personnel in the hospital, clinical, home health care agencies, mail-order and retail pharmacies. Working under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, Pharmacy Technicians provide assistance to the pharmacist in a variety of tasks involving the packaging, distribution, compounding, labeling, and recording of drugs.

  • General Psychology

  • An overview of the factors affecting behavior including topics related to: theories of learning, the senses, perception, nervous system, emotions, personality theory, motivation, abnormal behavior and therapy, and social psychology.

    As a community education student, you are encouraged to participate in the online discussions; however, quizzes and midterm/final assignments are optional.

    Class Co-Enrolled with: PSYC 100

  • Intercultural Communication


  • A comparative study of cultural perspectives, communication styles, relationships, and customs. May include analysis of and participation in cross-cultural interactions.

    Intercultural Communication is a class that provides knowledge and skills to support communication across cultural differences, such as race, gender, age, social class, sexuality, and disability status. In this course, you will spend time developing skills that support the Intercultural Communication that you might experience when you travel, but even more importantly, the Intercultural Communication that we all experience in our professional, personal, and community relationships.

  • Public Speaking

  • Provides students with theory and practice in preparing organized, goal-specific speeches, presenting them confidently before an audience, and analyzing components of the public speaking process. 

    Public Speaking is a class that provides knowledge and skills to support effective public communication that is responsive to context, audience's expectations and needs, and the speaker's goals. In this course, you will craft and deliver speeches about community issues that matter to you, giving you the opportunity to practice public communication skills and receive constructive feedback to improve your public speaking.
