OLLI offers different ways to take classes. We explain the different styles below. If you have a strong preference for one style over another, please select the appropriate button below to view only those particular offerings.
In-Person Classes - A popular traditional teaching style that occurs in the classroom, with the instructor and class participants gathering together. (Most in-person classes are housed in 210 Wishcamper Center on the Portland Campus of the University of Southern Maine.)
Remote Classes - Our remote online classes are delivered via Zoom, which is excellent for those who prefer to take their classes from home.
Hybrid Classes—OLLI has several Zoom-enabled classrooms that can beam large classes to online participants. We occasionally offer small study-group-style sessions with an instructor and a small group of participants meeting in person who are joined by online participants in real time.
Blended Classes - Blended classes at OLLI refer to classes where a course delivers some classes in person and some classes are delivered remotely.
