WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
An introduction to relief printing where participants can create their own simple, botanically-inspired linocut and come away with a useful and beautiful tea towel, as well as the knowledge of a new creative skill.
Students should bring a studio apron or studio outfit, as we will be printing.
OPTIONAL – Visual inspiration (your own leaves, photos, drawings), and any additional paper or fabric you would like to print on (t-shirts, bags, fabric scraps)
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Jaime Wing is a fine artist, printmaker, and designer, often using recycled and repurposed materials to create work inspired by the natural world around him, all the things that make us human, and our relationships with nature. He has a BFA in Printmaking from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and is currently a member of Pickwick Independent Press in Portland, Maine.
