Southern Union State Community College offers non-credit real estate licensing courses for individuals preparing to enter the profession and newly licensed salespersons completing Alabama’s post-license requirements.
The 60-hour Real Estate Pre-License course introduces the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to pursue an Alabama salesperson license and prepares participants for the state licensing examination. The 30-hour Real Estate Post-License course provides practical instruction in business planning, client management, property listings, marketing, negotiation, transaction coordination, closing procedures, risk management, and Alabama’s legal and ethical responsibilities.
The Alabama Real Estate Commission requires completion of the 60-hour pre-license course before taking the salesperson licensing examination. Temporary salesperson licensees must complete the 30-hour post-license course within 12 months, with additional requirements applying to maintaining active license status.
