Introductory Knitting

Ease into Fall with a beginner-friendly knitting class designed to teach you the essentials!

Students will learn core skills like casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off, then apply them to create a variety of simple potholders. For those who pick up the craft quickly and want an extra challenge, there may be time to start a cozy scarf—perfect for the cooler fall months.

The course also covers the basics of knitting tools and materials, including an introduction to different needle types, yarn quality and weight, and tips for choosing the right yarn. Students will receive guidance on where to find suitable yarn and supplies in the Seattle area so they can confidently continue their knitting journey.

By the end of the class, participants will have a solid foundation in basic knitting skills.

Needles and yarn will be provided by the instructor. By the third class the students are encouraged to buy their own specific yarn for the slippers and can purchase needles if they wish to have their own set.
