This introductory course is designed to help you move beyond auto mode and begin using your camera with intention and creativity.
Through a mix of guided practice activities, hands-on practice, and outside assignments, you’ll learn the fundamentals of camera operation: aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, and exposure.
You’ll also explore core concepts in composition, lighting, and visual storytelling.
Students are required to have a DSLR or mirrorless camera with manual controls. A tripod is recommended but not required.
The class will have two Sunday morning field trips with the instructor on July 19th and August 2nd (more details given in class, see below).
This class includes field trips to Kubota Gardens on July 19 and to Volunteer Park August 2 both from 11AM to 1PM. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the field trips. Additional details will be given by your instructor.
