This 8-hour class will allow the MLT, MT, MLS, and those who are certified out of state to obtain a phlebotomy program completion certificate. The certificate is required to be eligible to apply for the Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-P) credential and work as a Certified Phlebotomist in the State of Washington. This certification enables the candidate the opportunity to complete their national Phlebotomist certification with the ASCP. All candidates must present proof of successful completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical Lab Technician, Technologist, or Scientist program from an accredited institution prior to registration, or be nationally certified. Completion of this class does not fulfill the 7-hour HIV/AIDS training required by Department of Health (DOH) prior to obtaining the MA-P credential.
