The Tragedy of the Donner Party
What started out as a group of American pioneers setting out from the Midwest to California, deteriorated into one of the most fascinating tragedies. We will break down the decision-making process of the leaders, Donner and Reed, to enter the Sierra Nevada Mountains during the harsh winter of 1864-1865 and how the journey ultimately ended in multiple deaths, starvation, and cannibalism.
