The Crusades: Warfare in Western Europe 1089-1200
In this first course on the Crusades, we will discover why these holy pilgrimages took place, how they changed into crusades and the rise of the religious reform. This class will address questions such as, what did Marco Polo have to do with the crusades, who were Robert the Monk, Eleanor the Duchess of Aquitaine, Rich the Lion Hearted, and many more.
