Spanish Culture & Conversation
Spanish Culture & Conversation is designed for students who would like to practice Spanish in a relaxed and engaging environment while exploring the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. Each session features a different topic and may include travel, current events, traditions, food, historical events, legends and folklore, art, famous people, cultural celebrations, and interesting places from Spanish-speaking countries. Through guided discussions, photographs, short readings, videos, and interactive activities, students will build confidence using Spanish while learning about diverse cultures and perspectives. This course emphasizes conversation, participation, and cultural exploration rather than formal grammar instruction. Students are encouraged to share their experiences, opinions, and cultural backgrounds in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Class Notes: This class is designed for students with prior Spanish experience who would like to maintain and strengthen their speaking skills. Through guided discussions, cultural topics, short readings, games, and practical vocabulary, students will continue building confidence while exploring the diverse cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. Students should bring a notebook and pen. Course materials will be provided by the instructor.
