
Spokane Colleges supports parents who may choose home-based instruction for their children by offering a homeschool introductory course that fulfills one of the four ways to qualify in Washington: completing a qualifying course in home-based education at a postsecondary institution or a vocational-technical institute (RCW 28A.225.010 (4)(a-c). Our parent-qualifying course is designed to be an affordable, convenient, online, self-paced course taught by a homeschool parent who encourages parents just starting their journey. It will build your confidence and arm you with strategies to acquire resources for community connection, learning, assessment, and record-keeping. The course typically takes 3 to 4 hours to complete. A certificate is awarded upon completion.

What to Expect: This class in 100% online, either self-paced or instructor led/moderated. Students have anywhere from 3 weeks - 12 months to complete this course, starting on the date of registration. Check above for duration of access and mode of instruction. Once registered, you will be emailed instructions on how to access your online classroom. Please allow 1-3 business days after registration to receive a classroom invitation. If you don't receive it by then, please contact us as soon as possible.
