The class is designed to provide strength training programs to help participants burn fat and boost their metabolism. Various body conditioning exercises will be used to increase muscle strength and bone mineral density, help prevent injury, and enhance physical function in daily living activities.

Pickleball for Beginners

Pickleball is booming—and now Spokane Community College (SCC) is serving up the perfect opportunity to get in the game! In partnership with POWER PBC (Power Pickleball Club), SCC is offering an exciting pickleball course that combines expert instruction with a state-of-the-art facility, making it ideal for beginners looking to get into this ever-growing sport!

All sessions will be held at POWER Pickle Ball Club at 2818 N Sullivan Rd Suite #130, Spokane Valley, WA 99216.

Basic Fitness

Participants will learn to incorporate exercise in their daily life as a component of a healthy lifestyle, and participate in instructor-led group exercise activities such as cardiorespiratory training, strength conditioning, and flexibility training. Participants will gain knowledge that can be used for a lifetime while having fun participating in exercise activities that lead to reaching their fitness goals.

Personal Safety

Are you nervous about walking alone or downtown? Is your fear of aggression standing in the way of your ability to live? Take this course as a step toward reclaiming your freedom. People of all ages and physical conditions can benefit immediately from simple, easy to remember techniques. Prepare yourself mentally and physically to walk with confidence and have fun learning in a supportive and inclusive community! Each week will feature light physical activity, competency using one new anti-aggression technique, and repetitive review of previous week's techniques to develop automatic and effective reactions. Leave this class with an increased sense of personal safety and security.
