Course Desctiption: This online veterinary assistant course will prepare you to become a productive member of a veterinary team by helping you learn the fundamental skills needed for a successful career. You will learn every aspect of veterinary assisting, including anatomy and physiology, animal restraint, laboratory procedures, emergency care, small and large animal assisting, exotic species, veterinary dentistry, human-animal bond, pharmacy procedures, and more. If so, this course sequence teaches you the skills you need to work directly with horses. Whether you're interested in joining a stable, equestrian center, or veterinary facility that works with large animals, having a fundamental knowledge of horse caretaking and veterinary science is essential. The Veterinary Assistant with Horse Care Management sequence provides a broad overview of horse care topics while teaching the technical skills needed to work as a veterinary assistant.

Time Spent to Complete Course: 610 hours

Course Description: To work in the veterinary field, you need to understand the medical language unique to the anatomy, physiology and pathology of animals. This self-paced course will teach you the definition and uses of veterinary medical terminology.

You will master veterinary medical terminology through a simplified learning process that builds on commonly used word parts. Each course lesson is designed to build on this foundation, with the material and illustrations focusing on the new word parts and definitions needed for success in the veterinary field.

Time Spent to Complete Course: 24 hours

Course Description: The Veterinary Office Manager course will teach you the essential skills to manage the business aspects of a veterinary practice while also helping you prepare to work as a veterinary assistant. You will also learn keys skills in Microsoft Office that are useful in any profession, whether you are in an entry-level position or an experienced professional. In addition, you will learn QuickBooks Online to understand accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, which provide foundational skills that jump off a resume in any office environment. Finally, this course also serves as preparation for the certification exams for Microsoft Word, Excel, and the QuickBooks Certified User exam. Upon completion, you will be on the path to success as a Veterinary Office Manager and beyond. Upon successfully completing the course, you will receive vouchers to sit for the QuickBooks Certified User (QBCU) Exam and the Microsoft exams MO-200 and MO-201 (Excel) and MO-100 and MO-101 (Word). The voucher is prepaid access to sit for the certifying exam upon eligibility. Proctor fees may apply, which are not included. Disclaimer An externship with any organization is not guaranteed.
