Course Description:  This two-hour training provides essential knowledge and practical guidance for individuals who may be exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM) in the workplace. Participants will learn how to recognize, prevent, and respond to exposure risks in alignment with OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030).

Basic CPR, AED, and First Aid for Adults

REGISTRATION FOR THIS CLASS IS CLOSED. This class is already in session.

Course Description: BasicPlus adult first aid, CPR, and use of AED. Those who successfully complete this training will earn a nationally recognized certificate as someone who is able to use an external automated defibrillator, someone who can perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, and respond as a first aid responder. *ETP Eligible

Healing relationships, the powerful effect of evidence-based design and all its elements (color, sound, light, art), a focus on nature, the impact of technology on health, and the important environment aspects of health such as clean air and water are all explored in this innovative certificate program.

Dementia, Level 1: Capable Caregiving

Course Description: This 1-day course will help the caregiver discover how different types of dementia affect the elderly within the long-term care population. Students learn how to communicate effectively with dementia clients and their families, gain tools to recognize the signs/symptoms of dementia and delirium, how to respond effectively to challenging behaviors, and issues surrounding activities of daily living. DSHS approved certificate upon passing written exam with 80% or better.

Mental Health First Aid

Course Description: Mental Health First Aid is training that teaches skills to help someone who is working with a person who may be experiencing a mental health crisis. Information provided will discuss symptoms, crisis response, and active listening skills to support many mental health disorders, including: Depression; Anxiety, Trauma; Psychosis; and Substance Abuse. In-person class located on SFCC Campus.

This 1-day course is for providers in long term care settings. Learners will obtain an introduction to mental disorders and gain basic communication skills. DSHS approved certificate upon successfully passing exam with an 80% or better. *ETP Eligible

Patient Care Technician (Voucher Included)

With the occupation demand at an all-time high, after successfully completing this patient care technician program and certification exam, you can become a technician primarily focused on direct patient care and support within a hospital, clinic, long-term care facility, or home health care. ou will learn how to apply knowledge and skills to provide individualized basic nursing care to a diverse population of patients and how to problem solve and use critical thinking skills within the PCT scope of practice while fostering a positive patient outcome.
