Obtain your Home Care Aide certification in 75 hours of on-ground training. Training will provide DSHS certifications in dementia care, mental health care, navigating challenging behaviors, and traumatic brain injury. This training is the minimum requirement for employment with home care agencies, assisted living facilities, adult family home caregivers and owners, individual state contracted personal care workers, group homes, and any other direct care workers providing home or community-based services to the elderly or people with functional or developmental disabilities. Satisfactory completion of all units is mandated for all providers and care givers. This 4-hour class will teach participants the skills necessary to perform American Heart Association BLS Provider level CPR. Upon successful completion of the entire course, including the written and skills tests, the students will receive an American Heart Association BLS Provider CPR card that will be valid for a two year time period. This card level is acceptable as the CPR requirement for Nursing and Allied Health programs as well as for most educational and workplace needs.
