Course Description: The professional opportunities to care for the growing number of people who will use the supportive assistance offered in day treatment, assisted living, and long-term care settings are expanding faster than professionals can be trained. These positions can be rewarding, challenging, and fulfilling. Activity directors are responsible for directing, implementing and evaluating all resident activities as well as completing comprehensive assessments and care plan goals. Directing the activity course includes planning of activities for both individuals and groups, implementation of the programs, and monitoring the response to the programs in order to determine if the activities meet the care plan goals for residents. This course will teach you about professionalism, documentation and ethics, working with residents with special needs, and adapting ideas to certain demographics within a facility. It enables activity directors to excel by emphasizing the diverse nature of long term care residents and by providing a variety of activity ideas: creative, spiritual, physical, social, educational and sensory. It also focuses on developing caring and passionate professionals that are able to create, implement and evaluate resident centered activities that are part of the individualized care plan. Course Description: The Veterinary Office Manager course will teach you the essential skills to manage the business aspects of a veterinary practice while also helping you prepare to work as a veterinary assistant. You will also learn keys skills in Microsoft Office that are useful in any profession, whether you are in an entry-level position or an experienced professional. In addition, you will learn QuickBooks Online to understand accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, which provide foundational skills that jump off a resume in any office environment. Finally, this course also serves as preparation for the certification exams for Microsoft Word, Excel, and the QuickBooks Certified User exam. Upon completion, you will be on the path to success as a Veterinary Office Manager and beyond. Course Description: Every year across the globe, millions of individuals are affected by violence. In addition to the tremendous physical and emotional toll, violence has substantial medical, lost productivity, societal, and environmental costs. Young people and women are disproportionately affected by violence. This certificate program examines workplace violence, domestic (intimate partner) violence, elder abuse, child abuse, pediatric abusive head trauma, and sexual assault, gender violence, and rape. The outcome of this certificate program is for the learner to describe several key types of violence, risk factors specific to those types of violence, assessment and treatment options, and prevention measures to reduce the incidence of violence.
